Nearly 1 in 3 Clay County residents are considered "working poor" (above the federal poverty line but below the cost of living), with 83% of these families single women with children.

• Federal poverty line = $31,200 ($33,000 in 2026)
• Household Survival Budget  = $83,376 (Clay Co.)
